Reference Desk (Copley main floor, across from the Access Services Desk)

Stop by the reference desk for research assistance (researching a topic for a class assignment, using the library catalog or databases, finding a book in the stacks, etc.) and for other help using the library. Our Ask a Librarian service with live chat, text, and email is responded to at the reference desk. Submit a request for items in Archives or Special Collections here or at the access services desk.

Access Services Desk
(Copley main floor, large desk to the left of the main entrance)

Stop by the access services desk with circulation questions (borrowing, fines, etc.) and other questions about using the library. Reserves, items placed on hold, and pickups for Circuit, Interlibrary Loan, and Special Collections are all located here. You can also report noise violations in our study areas here.

Reference appointments

For in-depth reference assistance on a topic or tricky subject-specific questions, consider contacting one of our subject specialists. These are librarians who also specialize in a particular research area.
