What should I do if I get a security warning message when connecting to a library database?

When a library databases switches to a secure website (HTTP - HTTPS), unless a security certificate has been put in place by ITS, a warning message will appear that states that the connection is not private or secure. When this happens, please email claccess@sandiego.edu or contact the Reference Desk at (619) 260-4765. In the meantime, you can bypass the message by doing the following:

Chrome Browser:

  1. Click on “ADVANCED”

  1. Click on “Proceed to 0-www.....”

Firefox:

  1. Click on “ADVANCED”

Click Advanced

  1.  Click on “Add Exception”

Click Add exception
